Strategic & Business Advisory

We advise owners and management on decisions concerning market entry, business model, organisational structure and growth. Each engagement begins with a defined question and concludes with a written recommendation that can be implemented.

Scope of advice

Market entry and expansion

We assess whether, where and how to enter a market: regulatory conditions, competitive landscape, the availability of partners and the practical steps required. This includes entry into EU member states and movement between European and North American markets.

Business model and operating structure

We review how a business generates revenue, how it is organised and where its structure limits growth or creates unnecessary risk.

Decisions of management and shareholders

We prepare decision papers that set out the options available, the evidence for each and the consequences of choosing one over another.

Assessment of new initiatives

Before resources are committed to a new product, location or line of business, we examine its feasibility, assumptions and dependencies.

Preparation for financing and investor discussions

We support preparation for discussions with banks and investors: review of the business case, identification of weak points and the questions a counterparty is likely to raise.

Outside our scope
We do not provide investment advice, legal advice or tax advice, and we do not conduct statutory audits of financial statements. Where a matter requires such advice, we will say so at the scoping stage.

What you receive

  • A written analysis or decision paper addressed to the question agreed at the outset
  • An assessment of options, with assumptions stated explicitly
  • A recommendation with the steps required for implementation
  • A record of the sources on which the conclusions rest

Related practice areas

Advisory engagements often draw on other areas of our work. Before entering a market or a partnership, Risk Management & Due Diligence verifies the counterparties involved, and Open-Source Intelligence provides the underlying research. Where a strategy depends on new commercial relationships, Counterparty Identification and Counterparty Acquisition prepare the ground.

Contracts and other documentation arising from an engagement are prepared through Law27, our document drafting practice.

Discuss the scope

If you are facing a decision of the kind described above, describe it briefly. We will reply by email to arrange a discussion and propose a scope of work.

If your matter does not fall within the areas described above, describe it briefly. We will advise whether it is within our scope.
